You may remember me from earlier postings as George, the guy that loved "In The Wind". I have followed your postings with interest, and have enjoyed the discussions you have posted for people to read and think about. The one that sticks out(probably cause I'm a grandfather)was the one with your son and the milk. There are many applications that could have been taken from that episode, but I liked your take on it. I think I needed to hear that at the time...more than once! I appreciate your efforts, and want you to know that. As a worship team member myself, I know how important it is to know that the efforts you put forth are heard and used of God for his purpose. Someday, I hope to meet you, you are far more advanced than I, but I hope to travel the same kind of road in ministry and music! I hear you are going to be at a music festival in Dolgeville in June. If you'll let me know when that is, I can try to get the time off so I can be there, maybe even meet with you...though I do know it may not be possible. I do believe there's a difference between the clear commands of the Bible and matters of personal liberty. Though I believe the church should do a much better job of loving and sharing Christ with our gay friends, I wouldn't consider homosexuality a matter of personal preference and liberty. The Church has taken a few stray verses that touch on the topic and created an entire bigoted theology that bears no relationship to Jesus' teachings. We should all take heed of Derek's advice and avoid pretending that our prejudices and intolerances are reflected in the finished work of Jesus. I love number 3!
